Dr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo is a Ghanaian politician” a farmer, public administrator and an accomplished statesman. With over three decades of experience in public service as Minister of State, Member of Parliament, a District Chief Executive, among others, Dr Ofosu-Ampofo is dedicated to the promotion of decentralisation and local economic development with the ultimate goal of eradicating poverty in Ghana. His tenure as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GHAPOHA) from 2014 to 2017 witnessed massive port expansion projects estimated at USD $1.5 billion aimed at easing congestion at the ports while putting Ghana in a strategic position to attract businesses from landlocked countries within the sub-region.

PROFILE

Born on March 10, 1962, in Kyebi, Eastern Region, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has had a long and impactful career in Ghanaian politics. A former Member of Parliament, District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa North, and Eastern Regional Minister. Dr Ofosu Ampofo has also held several key positions within the NDC, including National Organiser and National Chairman. He is a devout Christian, an Elder of the Pentecostal Church and worships with the Sakumono PIWC branch.
