Dr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo is the Political Advisor to the Vice President of Ghana and the Board Chairman for COCOBOD. He is a Ghanaian politician, farmer, public administrator, and accomplished statesman. With over three decades of experience in public service as Minister of State, Member of Parliament, and District Chief Executive, among others, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo is dedicated to promoting decentralisation and local economic development with the ultimate goal of eradicating poverty in Ghana.

During his tenure as the Local Government Minister, Dr Ofosu-Ampofo laid the foundation stone for the construction of the iconic NALAG building at Gulf Street for the National Association of Local Government.
During his tenure as National Chairman for the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo introduced the Disability Desk in 2020 to highlight and address the needs of PLWD within the party.
His tenure as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GHAPOHA) from 2014 to 2017 witnessed massive port expansion projects estimated at USD $1.5 billion
